Barb came to Washington State University in Pullman, Washington to provide personal safety training to WSU students who were reeling from the recent murders of four University of Idaho students just ten miles away. Barb’s presentation skills allowed her to make immediate connection and earn credibility with her audience. She presented practical, actionable personal safety tactics that not only provided safety skills to students, but also empowered students with the confidence to no longer live in fear. Barb Jordan’s training was just what our students needed to help them cope with violence so close to campus. I highly recommend the “Always Bev” program to everyone, no matter their age or position in life. The skills learned in the program can literally mean the difference between life and death. It is a sad fact that all of us need to know when, and how, to employ personal safety strategies, even in “safe” communities. Taking a safety and self defense class with my fellow Panhellenic Sisters led by Barb Jordan was extremely empowering and motivational. Women need to be able to stand up and defend themselves because we never know who is in our environment that may try to hurt us, inside and outside of our college lives. Always Bev is one of the best presentations I have ever attended and supported. Barb Jordan trained all of our professional athletes across multiple sports. She easily made connections with each audience, keeping them engaged throughout. Barb is a phenomenal instructor. She really uses every minute of her sessions to give as much value as she possibly can. Her story, her WHY, will give you chills! Safety often isn't thought of until it's too late. She will teach you how to listen to your intuition and be more aware of situations while also providing safety tactics for vulnerable areas. She provides education on the main parts of the body to strike that can do the most damage, if someone were to get too close. Barb also emphasizes the importance of how to use your VOICE as a weapon. I brought my 10 year old and he loved it! It is a scary, crazy world that we live in. People like this are saving lives one at a time!

Barb and her “Always Bev” program were exactly what our University of Washington Panhellenic community needed, and there are simply not enough good words to describe the impact her presentation had on our members. Members left the presentation with practical solutions to both significant situations and the often-overlooked aspects of daily life.
